Did you know that a lot of homeowner’s insurance doesn’t cover flood damage?
Living in Florida is akin to living in the eye of the storm, meaning we live in a high risk area. Make sure you’re protected from the flooding hurricanes or heavy rains might bring with a suitable policy.

Why Have Flood Insurance?
After high-visibility events like Hurricane Katrina, people understand the importance of flood insurance. Many have also realized that flood insurance is not part of their homeowners’ policy. Did you know that you have a 26% chance of facing a flood during a 30-year mortgage, and that over 25% of all flood insurance claims come from areas that are not considered high-risk?
Unfortunately, much of Florida falls within those high-risk areas for flooding, which makes coverage all the more important. The Federal Government runs a National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). This is why Home and Property Insurance typically doesn’t cover flooding. The government draws a Flood Hazard Boundary Map that divides the country into flood zone risk areas, and their Flood Insurance Rate Map sets the coverage and premiums for those areas. As part of this federal program, we sell preferred risk policies. Please contact us today for more information on this important coverage.
